There is no question of the economic impact the members of the Oklahoma Malt Beverage Association have on state and local economies. It is very obvious and very real that the beer industry significantly impacts our Oklahoma economy. Employment, payroll, property taxes, income taxes, excise taxes, reinvestment back into Oklahoma and the local communities among other items are all very significant. They have major impacts on the economic well-being of citizens including employees, retailers, consumers and state and local governments.

Almost 11,000 Oklahoma jobs are provided by the beer industry in Oklahoma, including brewers, wholesalers and retailers.
The Oklahoma beer industry comprised almost $240 million in wages for the citizens of Oklahoma.
The economic impact of the beer industry to our Oklahoma economy is almost $1.3 billion! That includes the direct impact from wholesalers, retailers and brewers plus the added impact of suppliers and other areas that are affected by the industry, such as agriculture, business and personal services, general manufacturing, retail, transportation and communication, travel and entertainment, and wholesale.
How much did the Oklahoma beer industry generate in taxes in 2008? Almost $2 million in business and personal federal, state and local taxes were generated in Oklahoma.
What about taxes paid? In 2008, the Oklahoma beer industry paid almost $116 million in total federal, state and local excise and sales taxes.
